Spectrum Print Solutions was established in 2017, to take a bold step into bespoke and innovative solutions in the Printing and Publishing space. With over 20 years of experience, the company was set up with the vision to provide innovative solutions and applications.
The team has worked with many companies from SME’s to large corporates to create strategic solutions and implement new and innovative ideas for clients printing needs and applications.
The team has extensive experience which spans a combined 33 years across various sectors within the packaging and printing industries.
SPS is a Level 1 BB-BEE company that works with other best of breed local BEE suppliers. The team knows the importance of looking at cutting edge trends which are also environmentally friendly thus reducing our carbon footprint. At SPS, we manufacture and supply self-adhesive labels, sheeted labels, Global Hazardous Substance (GHS) (BS5609) Labels, chemical drum labels, shrink sleeves, multi-packaging labels, header boards, shipping labels, water resistant wristbands, aluminium and silkscreen labels, nursery and packhouse labels, Forestry and timber tags. We offer high quality flexographic printing, digital printing, and hot and cold foiling.
A vast array of materials, adhesives and finishes are available or can be sourced to meet customer specific requirements.
Thin, thick, flexible or rigid – we have the capability available to print on almost any material. Our material offering includes PVC, polyester, polycarbonate, paper, card, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyimide, acrylic, and aluminium.
An often-over-looked aspect of printing and packaging are self-adhesive products which can be costly when they don’t stay in place!

Spectrum Print Solutions uses various label converters in South Africa while also operating very close supply links with UPM Raflatac, 3m, Avery Fasson and leading worldwide suppliers.

The demand for digital on-demand production is expanding. Plateless digital printing makes possible multi-product, low-volume printing in a limited printing time and cheaper.
Moreover, a limited printing time allows various printing patterns, depending on individual needs, creativeness or seasons. The ability to set up clean working environments with space-saving equipment makes possible production on city peripheral, close to the point of consumption, cutting the time and cost for distribution. The Machine that we use is the Primera CX1200e.

With chemicals being shipped all over the world it is imperative that a common system for identification, classification, hazards, storage and transport conditions is used in order to reduce the risks to both human and animal health and the environment.
Globally Harmonized System (GHS) effectively gives the world a common language for Chemical identification.
By the use of common classification of chemicals and their hazards, a common system of labelling including easily understandable symbols and common data sheets, the same chemical is identified in the same way in the ‘UK’ as in ‘South Africa’. The aim being to make the international trade in chemicals much safer.
BS5609 is an internationally recognised standard covering the suitability of a particular label for use on containers of chemicals for shipment by sea. BS5609 approval is a requirement for self-adhesive labels on drums of chemicals which need International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) certification.
The BS5609 standard sets out various durability criteria including adhesive performance, print permanence and abrasion resistance with a minimum standard for labels to be used in marine environments.

And once it’s on, it’s difficult to get off (no transferring for inappropriate reasons here!). They’re ideal for whatever one-off event you’re running. We produce a wide variety of high-definition printed products on aluminium, from single colour to the full colour spectrum.
We use anodised aluminium as it is a highly durable material. Anodising is carried out at the company’s own anodising plant, enabling the careful control of the anodising process to ensure that the surface of the aluminium sheets are in optimal condition for printing thereon. This permits the production of high quality black or multi-colour print on aluminium, including full colour litho reproduction.
After printing onto the aluminium it is further processed, so that the print is sealed within the anodic layer on the surface of the aluminium sheet. The final result is a product which is resistant to most chemicals, as well as to corrosion and scratching. Production is carefully controlled to ensure the high quality of the end product.
